I nearly died each time I gave birth

... The hospital had detected 'retained products', when parts of the placenta have not detached, during a scan of my womb. Although they were monitoring the situation they had not warned me what could happen if the placenta remains were not removed. At about midnight one night I started bleeding. There was so much blood I thought I was dying. The ambulance crew said I was having a postpartum haemorrhage, a very dangerous situation.

Nigerian sextuplets' mother dies

A woman who gave birth to a set of sextuplets over the weekend in Nigeria has died of complications. Ajoke Bello, 32, gave birth to the six babies by Caesarean section operation on Thursday and was initially in a stable condition. But she developed complications from excessive bleeding at hospital in Sagamu, Ogun State, south-west Nigeria.
