Joint Clinic: I think I have broken a rib

Two weeks ago I fell in my garden, landing on a bench and with the left side of my rib cage taking the brunt of the impact. I am sure I broke a rib as the pain is local to the touch, and movement and breathing are awkward. I have subsequently picked up a cold and the coughing is becoming unbearably painful. I am 70 years old. Do you have any advice?
