Porn makers challenged for not mandat... - The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES - An AIDS advocacy group filed complaints Thursday with state officials against 16 production companies that show unprotected sex in porn movies. The AIDS Healthcare Foundation filed the action with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health, alleging the practice amounts to unsafe behavior in a California workplace. "We will not stop until there is a policy of requiring condoms to be used in porn," foundation president Michael Weinstein said.
Gonorrhoea down as herpes rises

The number of gonorrhoea and syphilis infections has fallen, latest figures for the UK show, although diagnoses of genital warts and herpes are up. Statistics from the Health Protection Agency (HPA) showed the number of new gonorrhoea infections was the lowest in nearly a decade. Overall sexually transmitted infections was up last year by 0.5%, mostly due to the increase in herpes and warts. Those aged between 16 to 24 are still disproportionately affected by STIs.
'Secret' exit created to boost attendance at sexual health clinic

A "SECRET" corridor is being created at a new sexual health clinic to enable patients to attend without being spotted, it has emerged today. The first images of the ?9 million "one-stop shop" on Lauriston Place (NHS Lothian) have been released today. Following consultation with patients, a separate exit area has been planned for those concerned about walking out after treatment.

Over-45s ignore sex disease risks

Many middle-aged people are continuing to take an irresponsible attitude to their sexual health, say experts. Sexually transmitted infections have doubled in under a decade in people over 45 and have been rising at a faster rate than in the young, recent figures from the Health Protection Agency show.

Older couples 'use condoms less'

London researchers found two thirds of men and women in their late teens used a condom when they first had sex with a new partner. But only a third of men and women aged 35 to 44 in new relationships did so. Experts said the International Journal of Epidemiology study showed a worrying trend - people should practise safe sex at any age - because of the risk of sexually transmitted infection.
