Little miracles: The pregnant mother with cancer who refused chemotherapy to save her twins... and survived

Just hours before surgery to remove an aggressive tumour, Rachel Crossland was given the bittersweet news that she was pregnant with twins. 'I was devastated,' said Mrs Crossland. 'Before, I was only really worried about my life. We really wanted to keep them, but didn't know we would be able to.' Doctors told her the tumour on her bladder was the size of a golf ball, and after surgery she would need chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Yoghurt can fight bladder cancer

Eating yoghurt every day can slash the risk of bladder cancer by up to 40 per cent, scientists found. But other dairy products, such as milk and cheese, do not help. Experts said yoghurt twice a day reduces the risk by 45 per cent in women and 36 per cent in men. The lactic acid bacteria in it fights disease. The findings are reported in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.

Cancer spread halted by broccoli
