Police in India are reportedly to use the so-called "truth serum" sodium pentothal on a man they suspect to be involved in the attacks that claimed 170 lives in Mumbai. So how reliable is it? It sounds like a James Bond scenario - a drug that makes people tell the truth. Sodium pentothal - also known as thiopental - is a barbiturate that acts on the receptors in the brain and spinal cord.
