(World health - EU Monitor 16/12/2008)
While a colonoscopy is a very effective procedure for combating colorectal cancer, it may not be quite as good as previously thought, a new study suggests. Patients could face further tests
(BBC 15/10/2008)
Almost 100 patients in Somerset who were tested for bowel conditions could face further tests following doubts over how well the examinations were carried out. Hospital bosses said a consultant had found cancer in a patient who had previously had a colonoscopy. NHS officials said the consultant who carried out the later tests had questioned the thoroughness of the initial examinations.
