ABOUT seven years ago, I was diagnosed with endometriosis and had to have an operation, which resulted in one of my ovaries being removed. I have always wanted children but endometriosis can return at any time and my other ovary is at risk. So as I am 32, and likely to need IVF (in-vitro fertilisation) in order to become pregnant I decided that freezing some eggs now might be a good insurance policy for the future. Once collected you can now store them for up to 10 years.
Simple test good news for women with painful condition

EXPERTS are recommending a new simple test for endometriosis which can detect the condition with almost 100% accuracy. The test does not require surgery and offers the patient a speedy diagnosis. Around one in seven women worldwide suffer from the painful condition, which occurs when the cells that usually line the womb are found elsewhere in the body. There are around two million sufferers of the condition, which can cause infertility, in the UK, most diagnosed between the ages of 25 and 40.

Eating tomatoes fights painful womb condition affecting 2 million UK women

A tomato a day could help fight endometriosis, a painful womb condition affecting two million British women. Researchers have discovered that an antioxidant called lycopene - found in high concentrations in tomato products - may prevent the internal scarring caused by the disease. Dr Dbouk said it was not possible at this stage to advise women on the amount of lycopene they should eat.
