Every year, thousands of people break a leg, and while the bone usually starts healing after eight weeks, in around a fifth of cases it takes much longer. Loraine Holland, 45, benefited from a new technique. "I saw Professor James Richardson 11 months after my accident. He told me that stem cells act like the body's own building blocks and could help me grow new bone around my fracture."
